It will be the conducting body of all the Examination that was being controlled by CBSE, AICTE and alternative such conducting bodies. The NTA would at the start conduct those entrance examinations that are presently being conducted by the CBSE i,e JEE main, NEET-UG etc
Now NTA will be going to conduct jee mains 2019 exam two times i,e in the month of January and April on multiple dates. You can prefer any date out of the given dates. Eligibility Criteria JEE Mains 2019
For appearing in jee mains examination, there is no age limit to be eligible to apply for JEE Main this exam.
The candidates who have passed XII examination in 2017, 2018 or appearing in 2019 can appear in JEE (Main) examination – 2019. The candidates should satisfy themselves about the eligibility of age limit requirements of the different institutes separately.
Note: Date of birth must be same as mentioned in the Secondary Education Board.
Only those candidates are allowed to give jee mains 2019 exams, who
- Passed the class 12th or qualifying exam in the year 2017 or 2018.
- Appearing in class 12th or qualifying exam in the year 2019.
Note: Those who are droppers must note that they can give 3 consecutive jee mains exam and if he/she has given 1st exam in 2017 then he eligible same for 2018 droppers too.
And also if some students are given class 12th/qualifying exam in 2016 and got failed but passed in 2017 are also not eligible for jee mains 2019 exam.
It is necessary for the students to take 5 subjects in class XII or qualifying exam.

Note: Biology students can give also jee mains 2019 exam but there is one condition, they must have Mathematics as a compulsory subject, not as an optional subject.
Number Of Attempts
The number of attempts a student can avail is limited to 3 only. That too in 3 consecutive years. Recently NTA released its official Brochure As per the new scheme, the JEE (Main) – 2019 exam would be conducted twice in a year. The Number of attempts for admission to a particular session will be treated as One as confirmed by NTA. The age eligibility prescribed as “Eligibility for appearing in JEE (Main) – 2019” allows a candidate to appear in JEE (Main) for three consecutive years.
Marks in Boards
As earlier CBSE conducted jee mains exam but from now onwards NTA will conduct the exam.
For NITs/IIITs/GFTIs participating through Central seat allocation board counselling. Candidate must secure at least 75% marks in 12th class examination OR be in the top 20 percentile in class 12th examination conducted by the respective boards.
For ST/SC candidates the qualifying marks would be 65% in class 12th board examination.

Eligibility Criteria For Droppers
For JEE Main, the term droppers will be divided into 2 categories. within the initial category are those who have dropped a year once finishing their 12th standard examination to target JEE Main. The second category consists of those who failed to manage to qualify JEE Main earlier and waited a year whereas getting ready or got admitted to a different institute and want to try once more. There are some boundation for JEE to give.
- For them, 3 attempts are limited and there is no age limit.
- And completed his 12th in the year 2017 or 2018. Those who passed class 12th in 2016 are not eligible.
While a drop isn’t much suggested to the candidates, it’s their final judgement and that they ought to keep in mind that dedicated labor and perseverance should be a gift in themselves to fulfil their dreams of connection an IIT, NIT, IIIT or CFTIs.
The requirement of Aadhar Card
It is necessary for students to have an Aadhar card with the correct name and date of birth and other details. If not then they must apply for corrections. It is required at the time of filling up the application form for jee main exam. It will fetch student thumb impression and other details for official use.
For the candidates don’t have Aadhar Card, they have to apply for Aadhard card enrollment and they should provide Application number only at the time of filling the form.
For the candidates of J&K, Meghalaya and Assam have to enter ration card no., passport no. or any other valid govt. identity card.
For the candidates who are facing or sorting with boards percentage and if they want to improve their marks for eligible to IIT, NIT, CFTI. As 12thy board percentage doesn’t count for preparing rank but you have to 75% above or top 20 percentile.
- If You appear for all subjects improvement then best of your score will be going to count but if you want to give an improvement in 1 or 2 subjects then your original marks sheet will be taken into consideration.
Note: It is not suggested to opt for improvement if it’s not a big emergency because as a dropper you will get distracted from jee mains and a lot of pressure for board examination.
Day to opt for jee main online 2019
Recently Secretary of jee main released a notice about the day and shift;
“Number of queries are being received relating to option for selection of Date and Shift while filling the application form, from the aspiring candidates. It is informed that the allotment of Centre, Date and Shift will be randomly done through computer software as per the decision was taken by NTA, after the closure of the Application Date.”
It’s quite fair enough for all students, but it will depend on luck if someone gets the middle slot i,e 10 to 12 Jan then he is luckier. The starting one will face some issues because its first time going to give computer-based exam and about the question pattern, paper toughness etc And last one for boards practical exam etc. But don’t lose your hope give your best there……
Procedure To Follow To Fill The Form JEE Main 2019
Step:1 Fill the Online Application Form and note down system generated Application Number. The candidate should fill all the details correctly. And after successful submission of the data, the Application number will be generated and it will be used to complete the remaining Steps of the Application Form and will also be required for all future correspondence. For future logins, the candidate will be able to login directly with their Application Number and created Password.
Step:2 Upload your Scanned Image of Photograph and Signature :
- Your Scanned photograph and signature must be in JPG/JPEG format only.
- The scanned photograph size should be between 10 kb to 200 kb.
- The scanned signature size should be between 4 kb to 30 kb.
- Photograph should be either coloured or black/white with the name of the candidate and current date should be printed on it.
